A Solar Photovoltaic (PV) System is a photovoltaic solution that has its electricity generating from the solar panels mounted on the rooftop of a residential, commercial or industrial building or on open land for large capacity plants. The various components of such system include Photovoltaic modules, mounting system, cables, Solar Inverter and other electrical accessories. Rooftop mounted systems have small capacities as compared to ground mounted photovoltaic power stations with larger capacities. The sun shines for approximately 6-8 hours during day, which coincide with the day time peak energy demand.
